[0.0s] previously on Dumbgeons and Dragons. [30.0s] you see Leonan in a back corner the package that I gave it's being sold to [36.6s] someone who I believe is in the Cult of the Dragon which goes along with [42.4s] something that I've had a suspicion of of Solax for quite a while is that he [47.6s] is working with the Cult of the Dragon got any ideas of how we can get [53.3s] these guys alone I think they've got a meeting with the council later today [58.2s] so let's go kill those people. Sure sounds that way. Sounds like we probably should. [61.2s] I walk out from behind the building I focus my energy on a point between them [66.2s] and call forth a rain of lightning. Solax is struck down by glory jam [74.9s] ogres crush he is paralyzed I tie him up hand and foot handily as you [81.0s] are tying him up you hear very heavy military cadence of feet [86.9s] marching down the street and you hear someone at the front call out stop what [91.6s] you're doing in the name of the axe of Mirabar it's only been a month we'll be [99.8s] fine we'll be fine how do we start this thing again just like that I [105.1s] think yeah don't we usually roll to see I don't think that's fair I think [110.8s] you should I'm not gonna say what happened I also I'm not gonna say [116.3s] what happened my notes are on the iPad that the child is using it's gonna be [120.5s] good. Oh Russ is gonna have to edit this so hard. If someone can tell me who [124.9s] Solax is I can tell you what happened last time but I wrote down Solax as [130.2s] if I knew who that was and he was important I don't know who he was. I want [134.7s] to say Solax was the the number two guy to the to the main guy that was [140.8s] Oh he's the Colonel Colonel Moranless Solax or something that sounds [146.9s] phonetically somewhat like that Russ. Yeah very close very close okay so yeah [155.7s] that's that's the start and this is Dumbgeons and Dragons and they it's a [159.4s] I don't even remember what it is it's a fifth edition D&D actual play [162.8s] podcast I'm your dungeon master Russ More and here with me on this [167.0s] wonderful journey are your adventurers Carla Johnson. Yes feeling a little [172.6s] concerned if the DM doesn't know how to play anymore. Tom Laird. Also a little [177.9s] trepidatious. And Amy More. Is trepidatious a word? You damn right it [184.1s] is. Yeah. So-called English teacher. Yeah that I would have thought you [188.7s] would have dropped that one Amy not Tom like Tom uses a lot of fancy [192.4s] words but so do you. Tired man. And I'm also trying to remember how to play the [198.5s] game so my mind is like trepidatious. Oh yeah no it's not going to go well. That's ridiculous. We would roll a D20 [203.4s] but you guys just kind of together collectively try and figure out what [206.7s] what happened last time. That's a bad idea Russ. Inside the box there were magical [211.4s] things. Ah yes the bones. So Glory Jam who was Flint's friend from the [218.8s] Iron Fist had tried to get us to move that box with the magical stuff in it [223.6s] then the dragon came and there's all hell broke loose. Yeah. Then the [229.2s] Colonel sorry the Colonel Maramris Solax was like actually Glory Jam I [238.3s] told you to take that and says something mean to Flint I think. I [243.4s] think I said something mean to him to be perfectly honest with you. Yeah I [247.1s] think you guys had like a bit of a a bit of a thing. Then we went back to that [251.4s] blacksmith shop and got some cool stuff or asked for some very strong light [257.9s] armor. Thea asked for that. Right for me. Then we all had a nap. The nap was [263.8s] good. Yep we're all very relaxed and then we met Glory Jam at the [268.8s] something something Panda Hut. He tells us that he thinks the Colonel [272.8s] Solax is working with the cult. He has a wizard Elhand Silverkin that has been [281.1s] hanging about and he Glory Jam wants us to help him and his friends get [287.1s] away from Solax. They have some folks that are going to fight with us. There [293.6s] are others who are going to fight against us we suspect. We wait to go [299.6s] jump them on their way to the meeting. They're going to meet I think with like [302.8s] the elders of the town. Yeah and Glory Jam told us that they were going to [309.7s] like cast a spell on them to get them to like agree to attack someone else. I [314.9s] can't remember. Yes there was something about that we were something terrible [318.6s] is going to happen in that meeting. So we wanted to stop it. We were [321.8s] waiting. Thea called some lightning and snuck attack them and we and we [327.4s] fought them and then we're tying up Ogre Crush. I don't know who that is. One [336.2s] of the other bad guys I guess and then the Mirabar army says stop and they [341.8s] surround us and that's where we ended. You guys should take a month [344.8s] off more often. That's probably the most detailed. Thanks for pulling all [351.9s] the weight there. Yeah you did good. Well I think you guys had to do it [354.7s] last time so. I did and it was I struggled. So that's where we are. I [360.2s] would say normally fortunately about to dive into the action but I feel [364.7s] like unfortunately about the dive into the action because. I'm looking at my [370.0s] hit points and it's not looking good. Oh God I didn't even look at that. Am I hurt [372.8s] already? Oh I am hurt already but not bad. Are you hurt badly? I'm hurt [377.1s] like I'm pretty bad you guys. So Soul Axe was killed by Glory Jam. The [381.3s] wizard was killed. I can't remember who killed him but somebody killed the [384.6s] wizard and you are in the process of tying up Ogre's Crush which is Soul Axe's [390.2s] second-in-command. Rickus Ogre's Crush. Rickus Ogre's Crush exactly and now [396.3s] you are staring down the what appears to be a good percentage of the army [404.0s] known as the Axe of Mirabar. So there you are surrounded by probably 200 that [411.5s] you can see 200 dwarven warriors all in full gear and they are telling you to [417.8s] drop your weapons and put your hands on your head. And I say oh. Mask your [423.5s] wounds. Or just take a potion or something unless Tom's hurt because I'm [428.0s] I'm not hurt too badly. No I'm pretty good. I don't even have a [432.3s] potion. I slip you a potion. Can you work on that and I say to whoever appears to [438.9s] be in charge oh thank God you're here. One of the warriors steps forward [443.5s] with a large axe in hand and says drop your weapons you are going to come [449.1s] with us. As I as I raise my hands in the air like I just don't care I do [453.5s] like a little wrist flick and say I don't want to die. And as she was [459.5s] doing that I slowly put my weapon down so they were focusing on me. Okay I'm glad [464.3s] we're we're all on the same page I I say we put our weapons down we can't [469.0s] fight. Oh yeah hundred percent. Okay for sure. Yeah. You guys can cure 3d8. [474.8s] No you you roll for it. Oh okay. So you pick six creatures in a 30-foot [480.9s] radius. I'll just pick the three of us. Leon and Glorygem is also with [486.1s] you. Okay he can also be healed I will heal him as well. You drop your weapons [492.2s] and you are approached each by two warriors and you are shackled and they [498.7s] walk you towards we'll call it the down hall but that thing. That council [502.7s] of sparkling stones. Exactly but you are taken to the brig area the jail [508.3s] area in this building and you four are put into one cell and ogres crush [512.7s] is put into another cell. There are six cells three of them are empty. There's [518.5s] one directly across from the cell that you are in where there is one dwarf [523.7s] male who looks like he's pretty beaten up and looks like he is sleeping in the [532.1s] cell. The bulk of the guards who bring you in there leave the room. There are [537.0s] two standing watch at the door inside the prison area where you are. Well shit. [544.0s] Now we've done it. Are these metal bars like standard-looking fantasy jail? [552.0s] Yes exactly standard fantasy jail they are yeah iron bars all have a single [559.8s] lock on them. The door and the front wall area is all iron bars. The other [565.8s] three walls is like stone masonry. Okay. Flynn can you like charm these people [572.6s] somehow or find out what they're gonna do with us or because you have you're a [576.7s] real smooth dwarf talker right? I do have that fancy fancy belt that helps [581.8s] me talk to the dwarfs. I want that other dwarf to wake up so we can [585.4s] let's see what he's all about but I guess that's probably not gonna happen. I [589.1s] see a rock on the floor and I throw it into the other cell and hit [594.1s] the door. Perfect. Wakey wakey. He stirs a little bit and kind of looks up and [602.3s] then rolls back over. No no hey hey what's up what's up? He says you're [608.3s] down here now you're probably gonna be dead. Let's not talk about it. I'm [613.5s] sorry what? Come again? Sounds like the kind of thing we probably should [617.1s] talk about. He he looks down the hall and he says we shouldn't talk [623.5s] about it right now. Well if we're gonna be dead soon we're not gonna be able to [627.5s] talk about it later. It's a good point. That's probably true that's probably true. He says okay. Okay you got me. You did make a good point. [639.6s] I have to be asked three times. He says if you get us out of these cells I will [648.6s] tell you what's going on but right now we're we're under a little watch a [654.9s] little there's looky-loos and people listening in. I don't feel comfortable [659.7s] telling you what's going on because I don't know you. I don't know what you're [663.2s] about. I don't know if we feel comfortable helping break you out. We [666.6s] don't know you. You're in jail. You're some kind of criminal. Carla where's [670.5s] your character voice? Why what does it sound like? We finally got to [677.0s] character voices and we didn't play for a month. I just remember I was an asshole. A little bit [684.5s] indignant. A little like I think lower like you were very brash. Okay okay does [689.9s] that mean I need to take that again or I'll just start from now on? I think [694.1s] from here on out. How about from now on? From now on it's fine. Yeah. Let's rewind right back to the very beginning. He says that's fair [701.7s] That's fair. I am Osric Battlehammer. Of course you are. I am or was I guess at [710.7s] this point a lieutenant in the acts of Mirabar. Wait a minute if you were a [714.7s] lieutenant why are you in jail? It's a good question. It's a good question. [718.8s] Really there are some magic-y things going on as I could appropriately [723.5s] describe them and those guards down there they aren't good anymore. There's [728.6s] something controlling them and all the other warriors in town by this lovely [734.8s] lovely elf character who came in and just kind of one day moved in and took [742.6s] over and is now controlling the bulk of our of our army. Wait do you think [747.6s] this is the same guy that was messing with Solax? What's the what's [750.9s] the name of this person? He goes by Primsbane is what what he has been [755.7s] referred to as before everybody was taken under his control. Now the [760.9s] concerning matter of this is is large portion of our army is not in the town [766.2s] but it appears if they come back to town they may be under whatever thrall [772.7s] is on the warriors he has currently here. How has he not enthralled you? [778.5s] From what I can kind of tell is something within the standard issue armor that the [788.0s] Axa Mirabar provides all its warriors has been enchanted by this by this [794.9s] sorcerer and I was not wearing my armor when this spell went off [799.9s] apparently. There were a few more of us but they've since been killed by [805.1s] friends or who were friends. I don't know what they are now or who they are [810.6s] now. No it's not really good. As you are discussing this the door to the [817.5s] jail opens and in walk three more warriors from the Axa Mirabar and they [823.3s] come up to your cell and in unison they ask you who are you and where [830.9s] do you come from? Why are you guys all talking in unison? They don't seem to [837.5s] acknowledge your question and they ask you another one and they say who gives [844.6s] you your aura? What the fuck's wrong with these guys? I don't know man. I [849.8s] have a feeling like the spell that's cast upon their garb it has [854.3s] something to do with he controls them almost all at once. Seems that way. [862.1s] That would make sense. Maybe this asterisk isn't full of it. It would [869.0s] appear not. What's my aura look like to you? They say we are known as [875.4s] Tholonius Primsbane and there is a power that's been creeping over the land [885.1s] and you are some of the first people who have appeared to have direct [891.7s] contact with this power and I plan on using you to figure out where it comes [897.1s] from. Everyone else racking their brain about like the power that's coming [901.5s] over the land. Are we talking about like? Oh, it's DC all the way. Dragon cults. [907.6s] I abbreviated it to DC. That really threw me off. I was like, wait, like [914.1s] the comics. Wait, what? Like the shoes? Washington? The shoes. He does seem [921.5s] very garment focused. It could be the shoes. We glanced down at the [926.1s] triplets feet and noticed they're all wearing some sweet skateboard [930.3s] kicks. Oh shit. But yeah, gotta be the dragon cult, right? I think. I don't [936.8s] know. Russ is always messing with us. I know. We should probably ask. Are you [941.7s] referring to the dragon cult? The dragon cult does not hold the power [946.7s] that I am looking for. Well, then I got nothing for you. Is he talking [950.7s] about the box? Maybe. There's a large power in the box. We came into [955.0s] contact with it. Some like, you have like a contact magic high? Yeah. But [965.0s] the Colonel was the one that gave it to Glory Jam. Well, so maybe. What is [971.2s] this power you speak of? This power has been showing up across the land [976.2s] for many, many hundreds of years now. Slowly at first, but it's creeping [982.5s] its way. And I am wanting to control this power. But I have yet to find [989.1s] the entrance or the beginning point of its source. And how do you think we [993.9s] can help? It appears to have directly contacted you at some point. I think [999.1s] we would know if it did. I don't. It appears the further questioning will [1006.4s] be necessary. And the three guards in front of you, three warriors in front [1012.9s] of you, all at the same time, turn face and leave and close the door [1018.9s] behind them. So there are now still two guards, the original two guards in [1022.3s] the room. I whisper to my friends, y'all, we got to get out of here. [1027.7s] Yeah, that sounds like a great idea. But how? So we have no weapons, [1034.9s] except for Thea's magic. I guess I could use them. Wait, wait, wait, wait, [1040.0s] wait. What about pass without a trace? [1046.4s] No, no, hold on. Hold on though. How are we gonna get the are we just [1050.0s] gonna break the gate down? Yeah, that's the trouble. Well, I think if [1052.9s] we just vanish, then they might be like, what's up and come into the [1056.5s] cell. Ooh, what about that other dwarf though? Oh, I could probably [1062.1s] What if someone pretended to be sick, we just pull like, like, oh, no [1066.6s] guards, please come in. Classic. He's the only one who knows about [1070.7s] the magic that's contacted us. And then when they rush in, we beat [1076.2s] them senseless, take the keys, break the other guy out. Yeah, [1079.7s] Russ, what kind of weapons do the guards have? The guards each [1083.6s] have a battle axe and shield. Well, that doesn't sound like [1088.3s] something I want to fight hand to hand. [1091.1s] I'll use my magic. I just don't think we're gonna be able to bust [1095.5s] down the door. Yes, because we don't have any weapons. Like [1098.1s] we have nothing to get out. We do need the door open. Wait, [1101.6s] Russ, can we see any keys or anything on them? Like is it [1104.8s] an old timey key ring that's like hanging off one dude's [1107.2s] belt? They do have keys on their belt. Yes. Like how [1110.7s] many? It looks like they have a ring of key. There are there [1114.3s] are a few on there, but they each have their own set of [1117.4s] keys. Do you still have that thorn whip or vine whip or [1120.9s] whatever it was? I do. We Indiana Jones those keys or [1125.0s] what? Oh, that's fun. You create a long vine like whip [1129.2s] covered in thorns that lashes out at your command toward a [1131.8s] creature in range. Make a melee spell attack against the [1135.4s] target. If it hits, he gets 1d6 piercing damage. If the [1140.0s] creature is large or smaller, you pull the creature up to [1143.0s] 10 feet closer to you. How close are they? Maybe I can [1145.8s] pull him close. Hold him against the bars while somebody [1149.1s] else relieves him of his keys. So you are in the center [1154.5s] cell. This hall is three cells deep, so they are 20 to 30 [1159.0s] feet out. Okay, well, I guess we just got to get them to [1161.9s] open the door. Yeah. Hey, idiots. Hey, idiots. I drop [1166.8s] to the ground and start shaking. Hey, hey, come over [1171.9s] here. Oh, no, one of her seizures is happening. One of [1175.5s] them, mechanically or robotically, however you want to [1179.4s] describe his movements, looks over to your cell and begins [1183.7s] marching toward your cell and stands in front of the cell. [1188.1s] The hallway is going to be probably about 20 feet wide, [1191.3s] so about 10 feet from your cell. And at the same time as [1194.5s] the other guard says, I have control over everyone in this [1200.9s] show off. Yeah, I say obviously not as a system of [1205.5s] shaking kind of a braggart. Right. And I I'm going to do [1212.9s] the thorn whip and like through the bars and like [1217.2s] whip, like and pull them. Sure. Make a melee spell [1222.2s] attack. So you have to roll for it. Oh, no, you guys [1226.0s] have to roll for it. Sorry. Usually our first rules are [1229.1s] good, because we usually waste them on initiative. Yes. [1232.5s] Well, no, that was a three. Oh, 30. Wow. [1240.9s] Well, plus your spell attack bonus. Yeah. Okay, it's [1245.2s] still not good. That's an 11. But not good enough. [1249.4s] Never mind. I decide to do hold person instead. [1252.9s] We're not technically there's no order. We're not. We're not [1256.5s] in the middle of a confrontation. Well, no, but [1259.6s] you're you're your first attack would have entered an [1263.1s] encounter. So I would roll for initiative. I'm sorry, [1266.9s] guys. It's all good. I just rolled a five. You did your [1270.2s] best. Things aren't 13. I did 18. Six. Mr. 18 over [1275.3s] here. Right. The guard in front of you pulls his ax. [1279.8s] The guard in front of you pulls his ax and swing. I [1284.7s] assume you guys are still you guys are standing by the by [1287.9s] the bars, because nobody's moved yet. And swings toward [1294.0s] he's going to try to attack us with an ax through metal [1296.6s] bars. [1297.9s] They're fairly spaced. And you guys are all trying to [1300.9s] call idiot over there. [1303.5s] Until I think I'm technically a few feet back if you had [1306.3s] dropped on the ground and started like that. Okay. Well, [1309.2s] he's gonna swing towards me to hang back because I'm a [1312.5s] stupid fighter. We had that conversation the other day [1315.0s] you guys just thought everyone should know. [1317.4s] I didn't call you a stupid fighter. [1323.4s] He swings his ax towards Nulara with disadvantage [1326.9s] because there are bars in the way the nine towards [1330.3s] Nulara I don't think that does not hit the second [1333.5s] guard runs over but it is now Flynn's turn to do [1337.8s] something. And what pray tell am I going to do from the [1341.0s] other side of bars with no weapon? Could you grab like [1344.2s] obviously guard two has run over and is within five feet [1349.9s] of the bars. What about the acts that came through the [1353.1s] bars? There must be have been like a jarring like he must [1356.4s] have hit on a horizontal bar. Can you grab his ax his [1360.8s] ass? Yes. Can you reach there and give him a little [1364.3s] typical Thea? [1369.1s] Oh, yeah, I guess if I was on the ball enough, would I be [1371.9s] able to try and grab the heft of his act? Yeah, you [1375.7s] could do that. We'll say it's sticking through the bars. [1378.0s] And he's in the process of pulling it back through. [1380.6s] Alright, so would that be what a strength check? Yes, [1383.6s] we'll go strength versus his strength. Alright, well, I [1386.5s] try and grab his ax. And that is a 17 plus force of [1391.2s] 21. And that's an 18. So you grab and have a little tug of [1395.9s] war with him. But you pull the ax through the bars with [1401.3s] you. And the second guard is in the process of trying to [1406.1s] unlock the cell. And it's new Laura's turn. So I how wide [1411.3s] are the spaces in the bars? Standard? Standard four to [1415.1s] six inches? No. As far as my knowledge of jail cells go. [1421.3s] Yeah, I don't mean in real life. I mean, like in dumb [1423.7s] movies. Standard. Okay. I am going to just try and punch [1431.1s] that guard in the face as hard as I can. Sure. Are the keys [1436.5s] in the thing? But he just hasn't turned them yet? Yes. [1439.9s] Great. I'm gonna punch him real hard. Get ready for this [1443.7s] amazing punch. It wasn't that amazing as a 10 plus strength [1451.0s] I guess. Yeah. Yeah. That's a 14. You're going right to his [1455.1s] face. So yeah, we'll say that hits and then just roll a D [1459.1s] four. Okay. That was a one. You connect with his face and [1463.3s] he gets knocked back a small amount but enough that he [1467.8s] releases his hand from the key. Okay, then Donnie is [1473.0s] going to, I don't know, chomp him. Donnie does better [1479.5s] than I did because Donnie got a 17. Yeah, 17 hits. Okay, so [1484.1s] that is a four damage. And then he needs to do a saving [1490.9s] throw. And that's against being poisoned? That is yes. [1497.4s] Poisoned. Poisoned. I thought it was paralyzed. Well, it [1500.6s] does paralyze them, but it is poison attack. Yeah. Okay. [1504.9s] Nothing happens. Oh, impervious because they're like weird [1510.4s] zombie people. That's really good to know because I was [1513.6s] thinking about using poison spray. That's good. Donnie's [1516.5s] testing it out for you. Thanks Donnie. Just remember the [1518.9s] keys. The keys are in the door now, my friends. The [1521.6s] keys are in the door and it is his turn. Is there a way [1526.8s] that I can like dive forward, reach my hand through and [1530.6s] twist the key lock open and kick the door open as an [1534.6s] action? Yes. Yes, you could do that. Okay. Let's make a [1541.5s] dexterity check just to see just make sure you do it all [1546.2s] good. Okay, because my plan is to like do a super cool [1549.8s] roll forward, reach my hand through and then push the [1553.7s] door kick the door so hard that because they're both [1556.0s] standing like close to the one is in front of the door [1559.2s] the others to the side. Okay, well, I'd like to hit one of [1561.6s] them with the door. Sure. So dexterity. [1571.3s] Was such a good plan though. I know. You put it through [1574.6s] a bar that's too far away. And you just can't quite [1577.8s] reach it. It's the first guard's turn and he swings his [1583.2s] axe down at Thea's arm as she sticks it through. That is a [1592.8s] 13. It's not enough. That was stressful. That was very [1599.7s] stressful. Like it's gonna be just like on Adventure Zone. [1604.5s] His axe swings down and clangs off the bars. Flint, your [1608.6s] turn. I guess I should open the door and then get out [1611.9s] there and kick some ass. Oh, no, open the door, then get on [1616.7s] the floor. Okay, then walk the dinosaur. Right, right. Okay. [1621.3s] Yeah. So you call out you idiot on the floor. And our [1629.1s] plan will be foolproof. All right, Russ, how far from the [1634.3s] door? Well, the cells only so not very back. So not [1639.1s] very far. All right. Yeah, I'll go and Jimmy open that door. [1643.7s] And then probably take a swing at one of the two guards if I [1647.9s] can reach. Do you push Thea to the side? Yeah, you can. [1652.1s] Okay. I just step over her like a boss. You can't step [1658.6s] over me. I'm bigger than you. It's like a really awkward [1662.7s] like, it's super I actually take an attack turn to just [1666.3s] jump over you. Walk around me. [1672.5s] Yeah, I guess if the cell is pretty small, I could I could [1675.3s] just walk around her. He tries to walk over me and be like [1678.5s] trying to like, like, like, I'm all on all fours. And he's [1682.0s] like, yeah, we totally keystone cops this and I triple [1685.5s] time crawl over you. All right. Yeah, so I will walk [1688.5s] around and go open that door. As you you reach through and [1691.8s] you try to turn the key, it sticks a little bit. So just [1694.5s] make a strength check there. [1699.2s] 12 and four is 16. It sticks a little bit on your first try, [1703.1s] but you are able to you hear the click of the lock and the [1706.7s] door begins to swing out open. All right. Man, is anyone [1711.7s] nearby me for some axe swinging? Yep, the second [1715.0s] guard that came over is directly in front of the [1717.4s] door. And the second guard is off to your left. All [1721.2s] right, I'm going to take a swing at the guy that [1724.0s] currently has an axe, because that seems like a much better [1727.3s] target to get rid of the guy who doesn't have one. Sure, [1730.2s] sure. [1732.3s] That is a 14 and seven. So 21. 21 will hit him. Yeah, [1736.5s] I'm like staring at my character sheet because I don't [1739.0s] remember any of my bonuses. Yeah, so the axe will give [1743.9s] you Oh, I guess it's a totally different bonus than [1746.0s] isn't it? Yeah, it's not your stuff. Well, your [1749.7s] bonus should be fine and stuff, but just the damage. [1753.1s] Oh, right. Okay, we'll go 1d8. Okay, that is a four. Um, [1760.1s] question for you, Russ. So like the guy that I just swung [1763.2s] at, is he currently like two handing it or one hand? He [1766.8s] currently has two hands on his axe. Okay, and it is a [1770.7s] guard twos turn so the guard without the axe and he goes [1775.9s] to push the door back into you trying to hurt you with [1780.8s] the door there flint. All right, God get an original [1783.7s] idea. He throws his weight against the door. So we'll go [1788.8s] a strength check. That's a 15. So make a strength saving [1794.8s] throw there. [1795.6s] Alright, so that is an 11. But then I get so wait, no, [1800.2s] so I just get my strength proficiency bonus, but not [1802.9s] my like, ah, crap, this is so confusing. It's been so [1806.3s] long since we've done this. You've got the saving [1808.4s] throws box. Yep. So whatever the number is beside your [1811.3s] strength saving throw, that's what you get to add to your [1813.7s] desk. Oh, sweet. Because there's an eight next to that. [1816.0s] So I didn't figure that one through. Well, according to [1821.7s] roll 20 anyway. Yeah, no, that's that seems right. [1826.0s] Awesome. That's what mine is too. Because my strength is [1828.3s] 19. So here's this, you're at least as strong as me [1831.4s] because you're a real bruiser, real strong boy. So [1837.1s] you got higher than a 15? Yeah, I got 16. So you he kind of [1841.0s] runs into it. And you are much stronger than him, [1846.2s] apparently. And he kind of bounces off of it and gives [1849.4s] himself a little bit of damage. One damage. Idiot. [1856.3s] One damage to himself. Yeah, awesome. Nulara, your [1859.8s] turn. So the door is open. Now Flint is standing in it. [1864.3s] But yeah, door is open. There would be enough room that you [1868.3s] could probably sneak by if you were looking to get out of [1871.3s] the cell at this moment. Oh, man. But there's still a dude [1874.4s] out there with an axe. There is an axey dude. Yeah. Okay, [1877.9s] I'm gonna grab the keys out of the lock, slip them in my [1881.4s] pocket. And then I am going to cast pass without a trace. [1887.4s] You should say angry russians right now. Well, I don't [1891.2s] have a weapon. I can't do anything else. I can't just keep [1894.9s] trying to punch people. I'm not that good at punching. [1897.7s] You go to cast path with a pass without a trace. And [1902.9s] something interrupts you big surprise. Yep. And you get [1906.8s] knocked down in your vile breaks. No, you feel usually [1914.0s] when you cast it, there's like a magical wave that goes [1917.2s] by on the creatures. That happens. And you think it [1925.1s] worked. But you get the feeling that these two dwarf [1930.7s] warrior folks can still see you. [1933.3s] Because they weren't like, what, what, what? Where did [1935.8s] they go? [1937.3s] Exactly. [1938.6s] Because there's usually get a pretty good reaction when you [1941.1s] go invisible. [1942.0s] It's true. But there is not that reaction. [1945.0s] Okay, so we're still behind the door, but the doors pushed [1947.8s] open a little bit. And where are the two guards? There's [1951.7s] one. Like if I was to exit the door, there would be one [1955.7s] to my right. [1956.9s] The one with the axis to your left, and the one who [1959.9s] tried to body slam Flint, it was knocked more or less [1964.3s] straight back from the door towards the cell opposite you. [1968.6s] So he's, you know, five to 10 feet away. [1971.7s] So the door is swinging open [1974.1s] to your right. [1975.7s] Wait, Carla, is there a way that you can tackle one of them [1978.2s] and rip his armor off? And maybe we can get him out of [1981.6s] like this weird? [1983.0s] Well, I certainly just have to run in like, tackle one of [1986.5s] them, right? Because I got no other option. [1988.7s] You should probably try to disrobe him while you do. [1990.9s] Hey, settle it down over there. [1994.9s] For, you know, for purposes and whatnot. [1999.3s] This seems for purpose. [2002.0s] For science? [2002.7s] Exactly. [2003.1s] For science. [2005.1s] Yeah, this is this is my plan. [2008.0s] I'm going to run out the door to the one god closest to me [2012.1s] without the axe. [2013.1s] The one without the axe, okay. [2014.9s] Well, is he the closest to me? [2016.6s] Yeah, well, yeah. [2017.8s] Okay, yeah, I'm gonna run out and try and like, tackle [2022.2s] him and, you know, give him some punches and whatnot. [2025.3s] And also rip off armor pieces. [2028.1s] And also rip off armor pieces. [2029.9s] Okay, so make a strength check to tackle him. [2035.5s] Okay, well, that is a five plus four. [2041.5s] So that's a nine. [2043.2s] Well, he rolled a five on his saving throw. [2045.8s] So he was he's a little stunned by being, you know, [2050.5s] jarred back by Flint. [2051.9s] So you caught him off guard. [2053.1s] It's good. [2053.7s] It's good. [2054.7s] So you tackle him. [2056.2s] And are you trying to knock him to the ground? [2058.8s] Are you trying to knock him back? [2060.1s] Well, I guess, yeah, knock him down. [2062.1s] Like, can you describe their armor? [2064.3s] Like, is there something that is? [2066.2s] Oh, yeah, sure. [2067.1s] Like, I think it's a great idea to try and like, get his [2070.9s] like, his mind control powers gone. [2073.1s] Is it tear away? [2074.1s] Like the armor they are wearing is like plate armor that's [2081.3s] made specifically for them. [2083.9s] Um, so it's like a single, single piece on the chest and body [2088.9s] that looks like it does up at the sides and then yet would [2092.2s] come off in a single piece. [2093.7s] Yeah, up over his head. [2094.9s] That seems beyond my ability. [2097.1s] So no obvious like deckle that says that says I'm under control. [2104.3s] It's a stone in the middle. [2105.9s] It's always a stone in the middle. [2107.2s] Smash it. [2108.6s] Totally. [2109.1s] Is there a stone in the middle? [2110.9s] There does not appear to be a stone in the middle there. [2114.1s] There's no flare on the armor. [2116.1s] No, no, no. [2117.9s] They're like, there's, there's like engraved, you know, but [2122.6s] it appears, it appears to be, you know, designed with the [2126.5s] armor. [2126.8s] Kate, what is on his head? [2128.3s] Uh, he has a, a metal armor helmet. [2132.2s] Great. [2132.5s] Well, I'm going to pull that off cause at least any is [2135.1s] easier to punch. [2135.9s] Sure. [2137.1s] Uh, yeah. [2137.7s] So you will say that that's still under the same, same [2141.3s] strength check. [2141.8s] So you are, you are able to, um, pull his head helmet off. [2147.7s] I'm having troubles. [2148.6s] As opposed to his feet. [2149.4s] No, I liked it. [2150.1s] Yeah. [2151.0s] Uh, Kate, great. [2154.5s] And then all of a sudden he's not under control anymore and [2157.5s] he's on our side, right? [2158.7s] Negative. [2159.4s] Once you, damn it's worth a shot. [2161.4s] Once you pull off the helmet, you are able to get a closer [2165.9s] view of his face and you see that his skin looks a little [2172.7s] like gray and like he's got, um, light black veins that [2178.3s] run over his face. [2180.2s] And his eyes are a bit cloudy. [2184.1s] Gross. [2184.5s] Oh no. [2184.9s] Is there some necromancy shit going on here? [2187.1s] These guys are already dead. [2188.7s] Well then I don't feel bad killing them now. [2190.4s] Cause before I was like, Oh, they're under control. [2192.7s] Like it's not them. [2193.8s] And they were all, well now I'm ready to pull out some [2197.4s] big shit. [2198.0s] I'm not rolling dice anymore here. [2199.5s] People punch him in the face. [2202.5s] Punch him hard. [2203.1s] Uh, is my turnover or do I get to punch him again? [2206.0s] I already took the key out of the lock and knocked him [2208.7s] over. [2209.0s] Do those count as my two actions? [2210.9s] Uh, yeah. [2211.9s] Or my two attacks? [2212.7s] Well, yeah. [2213.1s] Cause you took the key out of the lock. [2214.3s] You knocked him down and you took his helmet off. [2216.3s] So I think you're good. [2218.1s] I think you're good. [2218.7s] Yep. [2219.1s] That seems fair. [2220.1s] Thea. [2221.0s] Thea gets up off her ass. [2223.0s] Run, gets herself out of the cell, turns toward to the [2227.5s] left, the guy with the axe. [2229.5s] And I'm just going to fucking throw flaming sphere at him. [2232.4s] I make sure to not throw it at Flint cause then we're [2236.2s] going to take his quarters. [2237.7s] But I make sure that Flint is behind me. [2239.9s] Um, and then I also kind of like shimmy back more because I [2242.5s] don't want to be close to him for obvious reasons. [2245.1s] So he gets three D six. [2248.9s] You get a dex saving throw though. [2250.3s] Yay. [2250.5s] You certainly do. [2251.7s] Uh, that's a 17. [2253.6s] Oh, what? [2254.2s] It's only a 16. [2255.5s] Okay, fine. [2255.9s] You only have to take half the damage. [2258.8s] Okay. [2259.3s] Four. [2260.0s] Well, at least I hit him. [2261.6s] Um, and now it is, uh, ax guards turn and he swings. [2268.4s] So Flint's still more or less in the door. [2271.9s] You ran out into the hall. [2273.6s] Yeah. [2274.7s] He's going to take a swing at you. [2276.1s] Okay. [2277.0s] Uh, that's a 17. [2278.6s] Yep. [2281.0s] Seven damage. [2282.9s] Uh, at some point is glory jam going to help us fight [2285.3s] these guards or what? [2286.2s] Yeah. [2287.6s] All right. [2287.9s] He's being a real useless. [2289.6s] Yeah, he really has been. [2290.7s] He's been sitting at the back, like whittling or some shit. [2293.1s] And we look over and we're like, where the fuck do you get a knife, man? [2296.4s] And then honestly, I forgot. [2298.3s] Glory. [2298.5s] Jim was there. [2300.6s] Me too. [2301.0s] Tell just now. [2302.4s] And I was like, what the heck? [2303.4s] Uh, yeah. [2303.9s] So glory. [2304.7s] Jim is like stunned apparently and gets four, not four turns, but he was like, [2311.5s] he was just kind of watching, seeing what was going on, you know, just [2314.8s] surveying the situation. [2316.5s] Um, and he, uh, he will take his turn. [2320.3s] He enters some sort of berserker rage and gets endless turns, endless [2325.3s] turns, endless turns, but he will, he leaves the cell, um, and tackles [2331.0s] him to the ground and lands a punch for two damage on Axie guy there. [2339.5s] You know, it's not a good weapon. [2340.8s] I'm really learning in this fight. [2342.3s] Punching. [2343.6s] Yeah. [2344.4s] So it's weird how in every movie they solve it with punching [2348.5s] because it's not good. [2349.7s] Once you're only punching each other, it's, it's fair, but yeah. [2352.8s] But have you seen Steve Rogers's arms? [2355.0s] Those punches are going to hurt. [2356.1s] If this is, this is exactly what I was thinking was Captain America, [2359.5s] but then, yeah, I mean, he did like stop a helicopter with the [2363.2s] power of his amazing punches from him. [2366.4s] Probably hurt a lot more. [2368.0s] Those shoulder sockets, man, there's something strong. [2371.8s] Sometimes mine hurt from holding a book. [2374.6s] Which is, which is maybe the nerdiest thing I've ever said in my life. [2380.5s] That was good. [2381.1s] As you said it on a Dumbgeons and Dragons podcast. [2384.8s] Yeah. [2386.7s] Don't worry, we've got your nerd needs covered here. [2390.7s] So, uh, glory gem knocked the ax from the axed guard's hand. [2396.9s] Now it is, uh, his turn and he's going to punch back at glory gem. [2403.3s] A whole lot of punching going on. [2411.8s] Hey, hey, it's me, your dungeon master Russ More. [2584.0s] You can find both Dumbgeons and Dragons and Bros and Dragons over [2588.0s] on iTunes or wherever you download podcasts. [2590.9s] Let's dive back into the episode. [2592.6s] We'll chat next week. [2593.8s] I can't wait. [2594.5s] Glory Gems is going to take three damage off of that punch and now it's Flint's turn. [2607.3s] Now Flint has two axes. [2610.6s] Get a double up on the axis. [2613.6s] What I want to do as far as like my, I guess it'd be an action turn. [2619.5s] So what I'm going to do is I'm going to pick up one of those [2622.1s] axes and kind of lightly toss it on over to Nularaaais. [2627.0s] So she's got a kick ass weapon. [2628.4s] So she doesn't have to punch anymore. [2630.5s] So should I make some sort of like, you, you can, you can, there's a, yeah, [2634.4s] you can move and just hand it to her. [2635.9s] Okay. [2636.1s] That probably is easier than throwing a sharp weapon. [2638.8s] Not that big a space. [2640.0s] So, yeah, I don't want that one to take a turn. [2643.8s] Yeah, that's fair. [2645.3s] Okay. [2645.6s] So I pick up the axe, take a couple of steps, give it to her. [2648.5s] And I guess that's one of my actions. [2651.0s] Yep. [2651.3s] Uh, so the other action is, uh, I guess I'll swing my axe at one of those [2657.1s] guards on the ground, probably the one that knew Laura was tackled. [2660.0s] Yes, that is a good idea. [2661.5s] Since I'm over there now. [2663.0s] All right. [2664.2s] So I'm going to do some sort of vicious swing at his head. [2668.1s] And that is a crit 20. [2669.8s] Woo. [2671.8s] Amazing. [2672.4s] Crit 20. [2673.7s] Yeah, I heard it. [2674.3s] You just beheaded someone. [2675.4s] One, four, and 12. [2682.4s] Well, four and eight equals 12. [2683.8s] Yeah. [2684.1s] So you do that. [2684.9s] Where do you hit, uh, this, this individual? [2687.2s] Oh, I was swinging pretty much at the neck slash head area. [2690.3s] You and your neck slash head areas. [2692.3s] Yup. [2692.5s] It worked well before. [2693.8s] You do that and you pop, uh, pop his head off. [2697.2s] I'm going to say, cause that, that is enough to do that. [2700.1s] Excellent. [2700.7s] It would be his turn, but it's not his turn anymore. [2703.2s] It's new Laura's turn. [2704.2s] Woohoo. [2704.7s] Uh, and the other guard is fighting with Thea. [2708.9s] Glory jam. [2709.6s] Okay. [2710.5s] Well, I'm going to go ax him. [2713.1s] Cause I also have an ax now. [2714.9s] What are you going to ask him? [2719.8s] So I ax him real good with a 17, 21. [2728.7s] 21 will do her. [2729.8s] I'm also aiming for the soft necky bits between his two pieces of armor. [2735.4s] Sure. [2736.5s] Uh, that was a one, so that won't do it. [2740.7s] Okay. [2741.2s] Oh, and then I'll do that again because I have another attack. [2743.7s] Second action. [2745.4s] Uh, not as good. [2747.8s] That is a 10. [2749.1s] 10 is not enough. [2750.0s] Okay. [2750.7s] Now it is Donnie's turn. [2752.3s] Yes, it is Donnie's turn. [2755.1s] Donnie got a 14. [2758.2s] 14 is not enough. [2760.2s] Okay. [2761.0s] Uh, Thea. [2761.9s] Uh, I'm going to use my flaming sphere, which is already out. [2766.4s] Cause it's the only way I get to have two actions. [2769.9s] Uh, yup. [2771.9s] Okay. [2772.1s] So just so you know, he's on the ground and glory. [2775.9s] Jam is on top of him and Laura is swinging her ax down on top of him. [2780.4s] So I won't flaming sphere, but I will kick him in the testicles. [2786.1s] Solid. [2786.8s] Well, see, I was like, can I blight him? [2788.7s] But if, if they are, they're already all poison, if they are, if they're already [2793.9s] dead, yeah, because it has no effect on undead, um, or constructs, I'm going [2800.8s] to go and I don't know, like, okay, can I walk up and just start like [2806.4s] untying his armor from the sides? [2808.5s] I want to see if like that will have an effect or if they [2810.7s] actually are all dead, right? [2813.6s] Cause if we take off the armor and he's like, Oh man, what happened? [2816.9s] That's like, this has been crazy. [2818.9s] And my skin's all normal now. [2820.9s] Well, then we probably want to try to save these people. [2824.3s] But if he's still all gross, we can just, you know, kill, kill, kill. [2828.8s] So I run up and I do a, probably a sleight of hand check. [2833.9s] Uh, 11 and sleight of hand is 12. [2837.9s] Yeah. [2838.3s] So you, you're able to, uh, untie the ties that are on one side of his armor. [2846.0s] Can I, can I lift that off of him? [2849.3s] Geez, get a room. [2850.8s] Yeah. [2851.0s] You managed to, with the help of Glory Jim, who's pinning his arms down, [2856.3s] um, you managed to pull his armor off and he is still, still ugly and gross. [2865.5s] Well, should we ask him some questions? [2867.2s] Um, I think we should just. [2868.9s] Talking to the elf guy. [2871.1s] Or just murder. [2872.5s] I think just murder. [2873.5s] Cause we got that other dwarf in the other cell. [2876.3s] It hopefully can like shed some light. [2879.2s] Then it is Glory Jim's turn and he's just going to punch face. [2885.3s] Can he snap neck or something? [2888.1s] No, no, with that roll. [2889.6s] No, with that roll. [2891.4s] Uh, no, he doesn't do anything. [2893.5s] So it is his turn and he's going to try and push Glory Jim off and [2900.3s] doesn't succeed in his flint's turn. [2901.9s] All right. [2902.3s] I guess I just stroll over there and decapitate him. [2907.0s] Just another day. [2908.6s] Just another day. [2910.2s] So that's a 17. [2911.8s] 17 is good. [2913.7s] And six damage. [2915.2s] Uh, yeah. [2915.7s] So it loses his head and is now dead as well. [2919.7s] I take the keys off of him. [2921.1s] Okay. [2921.4s] I have other keys as well. [2923.0s] I already got the keys from the door. [2924.5s] I just figured like two rings of keys. [2927.0s] That's, that's gotta be a good, I think so. [2929.3s] Okay. [2929.5s] Well, I'll go let out that other, other, uh, gloomy dwarf. [2933.3s] Ostrich. [2933.7s] So yeah, you got Ostrich. [2935.3s] Who's like, he says, yeah, let me out. [2938.7s] That'd be, that'd be great. [2939.8s] That'd be super great. [2941.8s] You guys did good there. [2943.0s] Way to go. [2944.0s] I don't need your accolades to patronize us, but what we do [2947.0s] need is for you to help us get out of here. [2952.4s] But first, where did they take our weapons? [2955.8s] Uh, I really need my sword back. [2957.9s] You guys, it's like the only thing that makes me not die all the time. [2961.5s] Like, uh, he says, uh, well down the hall is where, you know, usually [2969.3s] prisoner prisoner stuff is kept. [2972.5s] Um, there's a small armory type area there where everything gets locked up. [2977.9s] So that would be my first guess. [2979.2s] Okay. [2979.6s] And then real quick, are there anything on these guys though? [2983.7s] Like I'm wondering, are there anything else on these guys that [2986.7s] I could take like a dagger? [2988.7s] I'm weaponless. [2989.9s] Yeah. [2990.4s] They both have, uh, they both have shields, but their axes were their [2994.5s] only weapons that they weren't carrying armor shields and weapons. [2999.5s] Appreciate it. [3000.6s] Okay. [3001.3s] Ostrich real quick, two sentences or less. [3005.3s] What the fuck? [3007.9s] What's going on? [3009.4s] How can we stop this? [3010.9s] Uh, that is a good question. [3013.0s] It probably starts with, with the man himself. [3017.2s] He probably has cast some spell on something that, that we, that [3023.5s] the war warriors are wearing. [3025.1s] I would, that would be my, my first guess because that I, that [3028.4s] was the reason I thought I was unaffected. [3031.0s] It's because I wasn't in, I wasn't in my armor at the [3034.3s] time when everybody else turned. [3036.5s] Were you not in any of your armor or like, you know, could [3040.4s] we piece it together by what you were not wearing? [3043.4s] I was just in, I was just in common clothes. [3050.2s] I was not wearing any, any of, yeah, any of the, any of my finery there. [3056.2s] Has a finery always been so etched looking at the etchings on the armor? [3062.4s] He looks at the armor and says, yeah, yeah, that's just part of, [3066.2s] part of the decor. [3068.3s] You guys are fancy. [3069.2s] Well, we'd like to, we'd like to show off how good we are at armor. [3076.3s] Real good at armor. [3078.7s] Uh, why weren't you in uniform? [3080.9s] Uh, it was my, it was my day off, so I was just out, you know. [3085.0s] You'd think that the wicked elf would have thought about people on off days. [3089.7s] Well, there, there weren't a lot of us on off days, because as I said, the [3094.0s] bulk of our, of our, of our people are off site, so we're only about a [3099.7s] rotation of about seven of us and the other six, uh, as far as I know, [3104.4s] are no longer living. [3106.2s] Um, and as far as, well, the people who aren't in the city, I have no [3110.0s] way of knowing if they're fine. [3111.5s] Cause they're not, not here in the city. [3113.1s] Righty-o. [3114.5s] Well, I think, uh, there's no way he doesn't know what just happened. [3121.2s] Right? [3121.6s] Yeah, yeah, I bet you were communicating with him through them. [3127.3s] So it hurts him when one of them dies. [3129.6s] Oh, I hope so. [3130.5s] Hope his neck's real sore right now. [3133.7s] So let's, uh, let's skedaddle. [3136.0s] Let's, let's, again, I don't want us to die to get my sword, but [3141.1s] I really do want my sword back. [3142.9s] Oh, I would like my Ospo back. [3144.9s] Yeah. [3145.3s] Yeah. [3145.7s] Like these are, this is a real important stuff. [3147.9s] So let's, uh, head to the armory or wherever he thinks they took our stuff. [3153.8s] Lost and found. [3154.7s] Yeah, exactly. [3155.9s] The prison lost and found. [3157.0s] Which, uh, order and who's opening doors and what's happening. [3159.9s] I'm going last. [3161.1s] I will go first. [3162.0s] Oh, I was going to make the other dwarf go first, but cause I don't care. [3169.3s] He sees get awestruck. [3171.9s] Okay. [3173.0s] Cause we don't know why he was in prison. [3174.9s] Like, he also knows where everything is. [3177.6s] So he should probably actually lead the way. [3179.6s] He knows the way around. [3181.0s] I'll be right next to him though. [3182.0s] Okay. [3182.3s] I can go after that. [3183.3s] Cause I have the other weapon. [3184.5s] I'll be bringing up the rear. [3185.7s] So glory jam is going before you. [3187.3s] Okay. [3187.6s] So you unlock, uh, you're able to unlock the door. [3191.2s] Flint and Osric look out into the hall and it looks clear. [3195.5s] So you go out and he goes off to the left and you're all following behind. [3201.2s] Um, and you see there's a few doors that you pass. [3204.7s] All of them are closed and he comes up to one on the right side of the hallway. [3209.7s] Um, and, uh, he goes to try the door and it is locked. [3213.1s] And he says, yeah, I need to unlock that. [3217.1s] You want to hand those over if you want to give it a try. [3219.5s] I toss him the keys and he reaches down and unlocks the door. [3224.1s] Um, and it opens and it appears that your, um, your weapons are in this room. [3234.5s] We've solved the weapons puzzle. [3236.3s] Uh, so you go in and you grab your stuff. [3239.3s] And I take the keys back from him. [3240.9s] Sure. [3241.1s] Are there extra weapons for him as well? [3244.0s] Uh, no glory jam would have had weapons. [3246.5s] There are some extra weapons for, so that everybody is armed and you have [3251.5s] weapons now is I already forget everyone. [3254.1s] His name is Prim's Bane in this building. [3258.1s] Do you think, um, as far as I know, he is, he is on site here. [3263.2s] Um, at least he was when I was, when I, when I was imprisoned, [3267.5s] which wasn't that long ago. [3269.1s] Let's find him. [3269.8s] My guess is he's going to be in one of the upper levels. [3272.4s] Go check those out. [3273.3s] Okey dokey. [3274.1s] Let's do it. [3274.9s] He peeks back through the door and again, it looks clear. [3278.6s] Are you going in the same order, different order? [3280.7s] I'm happy with same order. [3282.5s] If everyone else. [3283.9s] I'll sneak myself more into the middle. [3287.3s] So I'm not so glory jam at the back in case they come from behind. [3290.3s] Yeah. [3290.5s] He passes through the door and then you guys run quickly behind him. [3296.2s] But as Flint you run through, there is a bright light that shines as [3301.9s] you pass through this door and, uh, new Laura and Thea, you see this [3306.3s] light as you pass through the door as well. [3308.9s] Um, and you step out into a hall that doesn't look the same as the [3315.8s] hall that you were in portal. [3318.1s] Sweet. [3319.1s] I mean, not, it's definitely going to be bad, but sweet. [3322.1s] You three are separated from glory gem and Osric. [3326.9s] They're not there, but we're still together. [3328.6s] Right. [3329.1s] But you guys are still together dream team and coming up, you [3333.9s] will find yourselves in a hall. [3335.9s] It is a dark hallway. [3337.8s] You were in, when you were in the, on the prison level, uh, you felt you [3343.1s] were, uh, you were at or above ground level, um, there were some windows, [3349.2s] but now it is dark. [3351.0s] There are a couple of torches. [3352.8s] Some things are, there is a glowing nature about the halls, almost [3358.2s] like a bioluminescence of sorts. [3360.7s] So you've got a, a seemingly dead end at the one in there. [3365.1s] And then it, it goes straight down. [3367.9s] This is interesting. [3369.3s] I guess that's the way we go. [3371.5s] When we look behind us, the doors, it's just a, a stone wall. [3376.1s] It is just a stone wall. [3378.6s] Is there, can we see anything else? [3380.7s] Can I do a perception check? [3382.0s] You can. [3382.7s] Um, in the, in the area you are, it is just, it is just stone walls. [3387.6s] Okay. [3388.4s] Forward march. [3390.1s] I guess. [3390.9s] Yeah. [3391.2s] I mean, let's, let's go forward. [3394.4s] You proceed down the hall and, uh, you come at the end there to a, a locked door. [3403.2s] Is this Radio Zork? [3406.9s] I lick the door. [3411.2s] I wait for other adventurers to arrive and try their key. [3418.3s] Do we still have our ring of keys? [3420.3s] You do have your ring of keys. [3421.8s] We've got two. [3422.6s] We both have one. [3424.1s] I wonder if we have the same ring. [3427.6s] So let's try our keys. [3429.5s] Who is trying keys? [3431.3s] Um, I'll, I'll stick it in first. [3435.0s] There it is. [3437.3s] There it is. [3438.9s] Make a perception check first. [3442.9s] All of us. [3444.9s] Uh, yeah. [3445.5s] All of you can make it. [3446.8s] Okay. [3448.3s] I rolled a 10. [3450.4s] 12 for me. [3451.6s] You, um, go to stick the key in, but Flint grabs your arm and Flint, you see that [3459.7s] the lock is, has a trap set on it. [3465.1s] So he stops you from doing that. [3467.5s] Thanks, buddy. [3468.6s] No prob. [3469.8s] I guess we live here now. [3473.2s] Well, can I maybe, can we back up and I can shoot an arrow at it and try to [3477.5s] trip the lock and see what happens like from around the corner? [3480.7s] Thieves tools. [3481.7s] Is there a way to like disarm a trap? [3483.5s] I don't have it written down anywhere, but I remember when we chose special [3486.5s] skills, somebody picked up thieves. [3489.5s] I just didn't write it down. [3490.5s] Yeah. [3490.7s] So the thing about lock traps, which you know, is if you use an [3497.4s] incorrect key or you try to force the, force the lock without using [3504.8s] a proficient thieves tool check, you will set the trap off and [3510.3s] then whatever the trap is designed to do, it will happen. [3513.2s] Okay. [3514.5s] But you can certainly try a thieves tool deck check. [3519.7s] Okay. [3520.3s] Well, I mean, yeah, I don't think we have another option. [3522.9s] So I don't think we do. [3525.5s] God, I got a 17 plus whatever. [3531.7s] Yeah. [3531.9s] I got an 18. [3532.7s] Yay. [3533.8s] Thea's like bench in front of it. [3535.6s] She's got this little like eyepiece, like magnifying special thing. [3541.0s] And I'm, and I'm looking at it and I, and I, is this me stopping the trap? [3545.9s] Like, did I, you are disarming the trap. [3547.8s] Oh, okay. [3548.6s] And I see that there are a series of like Lynch pins perfectly [3554.9s] formed to the shape that the key is supposed to be. [3557.5s] And so what I do is I carefully remove each of the pins successfully [3564.4s] disarming the trap. [3565.5s] You also remove a, what appears to be a poison tipped needle, which looks [3572.7s] like it was set to shoot out into your hand as you are trying to open this lock. [3578.9s] Oh goodness. [3579.9s] But you have successfully done that and unlocked the door. [3584.2s] Thea, you open the door and inside you see the same stone floors and walls, [3590.3s] bloodstained from some time ago, as it looks quite dried on. [3594.5s] And in the center of this room, there is a statue of the deity Loth, the [3599.7s] goddess of spiders and lies standing atop a fountain. [3605.3s] As you step into the room, three zombies begin shambling out from behind [3610.7s] this statue, groaning and making their way towards you. [3624.1s] Music in today's episode was by Kavin McLeod of Incompetech.Filmmusic.io. [3636.5s] If they are, if they're already dead, because it has no effect on undead or [3643.5s] constructs, and then below that it said moves up Wendy, a personal slut. [3648.0s] I'm not sure why it says that. [3650.2s] What? [3651.3s] I'm reading the description I have under blight and it says like, blah, blah, [3655.1s] blah, blah, failed slave spell has no effect on undead or constructs. [3660.1s] And then right below that, it says moves up Wendy, a personal slut. [3666.3s] I don't know why. [3667.0s] I think you were voice memo putting those in. [3672.3s] Moves up Wendy, a personal slut. [3675.1s] Anyway, so. [3676.2s] Personal slut? [3678.4s] Slut. [3679.3s] Yeah, I'm not sure. [3680.7s] I'm not sure. [3681.9s] So I guess I'm just going to like this, this guy's pinned, right? [3687.2s] He's. [3687.7s] So wait, wait, wait, is moves up Wendy, a personal slut, now the [3691.9s] name of the episode, what's happening? [3693.5s] I think it might be. [3696.2s] Wendy's going to show up as another character. [3697.9s] You're going to find out that this guard's name was Wendy. [3700.4s] Yeah. [3701.1s] And now our personal slut, apparently. [3703.7s] Dumbgeons and Dragons is a dumb dragons production.
